MotoGP: Sepang test: the new Ducati fairing tested by Bastianini and Martin

On the second day of testing in Sepang the time came for the regular team riders to test the new Ducati fairing. While yesterday they concentrated on work on the new engine, today the aerodynamic tests are scheduled. Just before midday, Enea Bastianini and then Jorge Martin took to the track with the new component, while Bagnaia will test it in the afternoon.

As you can clearly see from the photos, this is an evolution of the 'stepped' hull, which was not much liked by the riders last year. The shapes, however, are very different from the previous ones, with a real belly in the lower part, which extends upwards with a spoiler. Furthermore, unlike the 2023 version, there are two 'ears', i.e. the lower diffusers.

Furthermore, in the rear view you can see some air intakes (similar to those that Aprilia also has) which serve to dissipate heat. This fairing with the 'belly' has the drawback of retaining a lot of heat inside.
