SBK, SS SP: Sofuoglu confirms his superiority

“There is no secret to my pole position, it's down to my team and our work method and this is why I wanted to renew my contract with team Puccetti; we have great pace for tomorrow's race”. With these words, Turkish rider Kenan Sofuoglu describes the ease with which he scored his umpteenth Superpole in Supersport, after dominating today with no-one else able to get close.

The Kawasaki champion sets a time of 1’30”298, but it has been his consistency right from yesterday that has so impressed everyone.

American rider PJ Jacobsen takes second place, very fast with the Honda CBR of team Ten Kate. He'll be in the mix for the win tomorrow but, although he closed just two tenths behind the Turk, it remains to be seen as to whether his race pace will be at the level of Sofuoglu.

A fantastic third place for British privateer Luke Stapleford who, with the Triumph Daytona 675, scores a front row start, boosting the morale of his small family-run team that knows Donington so well.

First among the Italians is Alex Baldolini with the privateer MV Agusta, placing ahead of Randy Krummenacher and Ayrton Badovini. Ayrton rounds out row two with the Honda CBR.

Alessandro Zaccone, the young rookie, did well to finish eleventh, ahead of more expert riders such as Frenchman Jules Cluzel on the factory MV Agusta, placing thirteenth and in obvious difficulty.
