Lorenzo Baldassari and Luca Marini will continue to share the Forward Racing Team garage in Moto2 next year. Lorenzo is in his second year with Giovanni Cuzari’s organization and he has been riding his best season since making his début in the championship, even bringing home a podium at the Mugello race. Luca, on the other hand, is in his rookie season and achieved his best result, a 6th place finish, in the last GP on the Sachsenring
Both of the VR46 Riders Academy riders have reached an agreement to continue with Forward again in 2017.
“I'm really happy to continue this adventure in Moto2 with Forward Racing Team - said Lorenzo Baldassarri - Despite the problem with my shoulders, which kept me from expressing my full potential, we are achieving very good results and the balance can only be positive. I have grown a lot during this year and a half with Forward Racing Team and I am confident that together we will achieve even better results. I want to fight for the podium at every race in this second part of the season. I wish to thank Giovanni Cuzari, the team, the sponsors and the VR46 Riders Academy for everything they are doing for me.”
Luca Marini commented: “We are exactly halfway through my first season in Moto2 and I can only be happy with how it has gone so far. First of all, I’m very happy to continue the work started with Forward Racing Team in 2017 and for this I wish to thank Giovanni Cuzari, the whole team and VR46 Riders Academy. I did not know what to expect from this season but being able to get some Top10s was really great. I‘m getting to know the bike better and better and I'm growing a lot with the team. The sixth place at the German GP was fantastic and we will now work to finish the season on a high.”
