European SBK Championship replaced by European Superstock

FIM, FIM Europe and Dorna are reorganising the structure of the European Road Racing Championship, as of 2017

European SBK Championship replaced by European Superstock

The restructuring of the World Superbike, meaning the championship as a whole, is moving forward. Having strengthened the grid with the arrival of riders such as Nicky Hayden, Marco Melandri, Eugene Laverty and Stefan Bradl, the structure of the series itself now comes in for some reorganisation. As you can see on the official site, the European Superbike Championship will be replaced by the European Superstock 1000 class run in WorldSBK.

The FIM Superstock 1000 cup, run at the WorldSBK rounds in Europe, perfectly covers the area and type of racing seen in the FIM CEV Repsol European Superbike Championship and therefore there is no need to continue with the celebration of the European Superbike Championship at the FIM CEV Repsol.

The Moto2 European Championship will remain as a part of the FIM CEV Repsol Championship.

FIM, FIM Europe and Dorna would like to thank all participants, teams and manufacturers for the commitment demonstrated in recent years to the FIM CEV Repsol European Superbike Championship.
