MotoGP, Iannone: "The old tyre? I expected more"

The Maniac reveals: "This has been the best test since getting on the Suzuki"

MotoGP: Iannone: "The old tyre? I expected more"

One day after crashing in the race, Andrea Iannone was already back on his feet. During Monday's test, the Italian closed thirteenth, one second from Vinales. Despite the old tyre not meeting with his expectations, The Maniac is still confident and will be back on track on Tuesday with Sylvain Guitoli. The Frenchman will stand in for Rins in two weeks' time at Le Mans.

What did you get done?

“We focused on various aspects of the set-up. I'm pleased, because I know the direction we need to take now. I think that today has been one of the best tests we've had so far. It's been productive, we've worked hard”.

What do you think about the frame?

“We haven't tested any new frame, instead we've focused more on weight distribution. Then we used the old Michelin tyre”.

How is it?

I have to say that I prefer it, though I expected a more significant step, which I haven't seen”.

And in terms of electronics?

“We're where we were on Sunday, it takes time. Right now, we're focusing on riding and my confidence on the Suzuki. We'll get there, one step at a time. We're still working out the details, first we need to work on the frame, then we'll continue with our programme”.
