"We are hopeful regarding Angel, but it will take time"

Carla Nieto, Fonsi's sister, has spoken on behalf of the family, providing an update as to Angel's condition on Twitter. The Spanish champion was in a collision while riding his quad in Ibiza and underwent surgery after suffering a serious head injury.

After thanking people for their kind messages, Carla explains: “we need to be patient and prudent, because this is a slow process. But [Angel] had a good night and this is important. We are hopeful but it will be some time before we can say something more definite”.
