With an official press release, the Yamaha team has announced that Valentino Rossi will not be replaced at the Misano GP, taking place this weekend. The Doctor's M1 will remain parked up in the garage and Maverick Vinales will be the only rider.
We remind you that, according to the regulation, a team can choose whether or not to replace a rider who sits out one race due to injury, while a substitute must be found in cases where a rider misses two or more races.
In other words, if Valentino is unable to race at Aragon, Yamaha will need to decide on a replacement rider. In this case, the most likely names are test riders Nozane and Nakasuga.
