MotoGP: Jack Miller: “Vinales made the difference, but the race will be something else.”

His Ducati was the fastest on Saturday at Misano.  We’re talking about Jack Miller’s GP20 that preceded Pecco Bagnaia’s by only two thousandths of a second. Tomorrow, at 2 pm, the Australian rider will start from the fifth position on the grid with Rossi to his left.

So the Pramac rider was satisfied, even if he prefers not to settle.

“It wasn’t a bad day, but it wasn’t a great day either,” Jack began. “But I’m satisfied with the result, even if we have to improve in view of Sunday. We need to take a step forward to be more  competitive.

But he’s focused on qualifying.

Qualifying was not easy, also because the wind complicated things, in part. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really confident at  first with the rear tire, since I tried to be aggressive in the first sector, but it didn’t make a difference. I managed to be more confident the second time around  and improved. In the end, however, the Yamahas made the difference, showing they were unreachable.”

Vinales’ M1 was in front of everyone.

Maverick did something special, but I don’t think he can continue like that. It’s true that the M1s are fast, but I don’t think they can make the same difference as in Jerez.  I’ll try to make a good start on Sunday  and reach the pace I need, without giving up. I have a good pace at the moment, although not great. Tires? I don’t think there’s a problem this time in the choice and also in wear. I carefully assessed the soft and the hard. Both are fine.
