The MotoGPs have never ridden at Kyalami. The last Grand Prix on the South African circuit was hosted in 1992. The track has recently been modified, so Brad Binder wanted to see what it would be like to ride his KTM RC16 on his home track and, of course, set a record.
With the complicity of Red Bull and his team, he organized a very special track day and discovered how fast a MotoGP can be on that track. The event, called “Superlap”, gave him the answer he was looking for: 1’48”078. Binder's best time on his KTM.
"I’m really excited. It’s always been my dream as a child to ride a MotoGP in my country," Brad said. "It was cool doing it at Kyalami. The track is special, unique. There’s nothing like it."
