MotoGP, Lin Jarvis: “Is the World Championship over? No, remember what happened to Rossi in Valencia?”

Yamaha frightened Ducati by reminding them of the 2006 World Championship when Valentino lost to Nicky Hayden despite being the front runner.

MotoGP: Lin Jarvis: “Is the World Championship over? No, remember what happened to Rossi in Valencia?”

The Valencia Grand Prix seems like an easy win for Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati. The advantage the Italian has over the French is such that Fabio Quartararo is forced to win, hoping that the Ducati rider arrives 15th or worse, with a result of  23 points ahead of the Desmosedici rider.

In fact, even in the event of a tie, Bagnaia would be the World Champion because of the greater number of wins. Is it an impossible undertaking ... or not?

Yamaha’s managing director, Lin Jarvis – who went through what can be called a terrible year –  spoke on the subject. Besides the M1’s poor performance, he had to endure Franco Morbidelli’s and also the WithU satellite team’s poor performances, as well as Dovizioso’s retirement at the Misano GP, their sponsor’s abandonment, and a 2023 with a couple of  Yamaha’s on the track, given Razali team’s transfer in April.

Maybe that’s why Lin decided to turn to his rivals ... about what happened to  Yamaha in 2006.

We’re still in the game,”  he said. You never know, but it’s clear that we must win the race, which isn’t easy. Anything can happen. I remember 2006, when I went to Valencia with Valentino Rossi. The idea was that Valentino would win the race, but Vale fell, and Nicky Hayden won the title. I know that Valencia is a very difficult circuit, anything can happen. This track isn’t that easy for us, but Fabio started twelfth  on the grid in Sepang and finished third. With a broken finger. It was pretty impressive. I think that race gave him confidence. We’ll see what happens in Valencia,” Lin Jarvis concluded, while the Italian competition was knocking on wood!
