Well, look who's here again! Remember Hector Barbera? Here he is. After racing overseas in MotoAmerica Superbike for the last two years on a BMW, the former MotoGP rider and 125cc and 250cc world championship runner-up will return to the Old Continent in 2023. He will do it again in British Superbike, joining up with the TAG Racing Honda team to contest the entire season astride a CBR 1000 RR-R.

For the expert Spanish racer it will therefore be a return to the top class across the Channel. In 2019 he made his debut during the season within the ranks of the Bournemouth Kawasaki team, immediately showing his potential in the round at Donington Park with a sixth and eighth place. In 2020 he then moved to the OMG Racing BMW team, without however leaving a mark. For this 2023 season, which starts on 7-9 April next at Silverstone, he will have a Fireblade run by Gary Winfield's TAG Racing, a team supported directly by Honda Racing UK.

These were Barbera's words: “I am very motivated to get going this season with TAG Racing. Returning to the British Superbike series is very exciting and is a move I am most looking forward to. Working with the team to find a way forward together has been a positive journey and I am so pleased that we have been able to reach this agreement. I would really like to thank Gary and Rob for the opportunity and to the BSB series for being so welcoming.”
