MotoGP, Bezzecchi: "Some riders cry and then do something stupid"

Marco Bezzecchi all fired up at the end of the Portimao Sprint Race: "In the Safety Commission there are riders who complain when they are overtaken, then in the first corners of the race they do what they want"

MotoGP: Bezzecchi:

It was a start of the season to forget for the Mooney VR46 Racing Team at the GP of Portugal. After what happened to Luca Marini, guilty of having caused the accident with Enea Bastianini, during the Sprint Race Marco Bezzecchi also had to go for an early shower because of a crash resulting from an error of judgment by others. Not the best start of the year for the racer from Rimini, already slowed down in the first (chaotic) stages of the race by some over the top moves.

There is a lot of bitterness in Bezzecchi's declarations: “The race today, apart from the first 3-4 corners, was going well. Because when I crashed, I was already back up to seventh place and riding fast. The Sprint is a good format, I like the schedule.”

The Ducati man (understandably) pointed the finger at the on-track behaviour of some of his colleagues: “There are some riders that cry in the Safety Commission for so many overtakes. They cry like a baby and then, in the first occasion, they make something that is completely stupid and destroy your race".

Regarding his race, he added: “I lost like seven places and immediately tried to recover. The problem is that I hit the bump in the second to last corner, lost the front and crashed!”

Bezzecchi reckons that the bumps recorded today are not attributable to the unprecedented race format: "The real problem is those riders who complain when they are overtaken and then do what they want in the first corners of the race. The funny thing is that there are three riders that complain and one of the three riders that always complains - and with me last year many times - today makes this. So, I don't understand why so many times they complain about me, and they do the same! I like to be aggressive, and I don't complain. At the end, races are like this. I like to battle. So tomorrow I will try to battle, it’s okay.”
