SBK: Petrucci: “I didn’t find what I needed in the Barcelona tests”

Danilo Petrucci ended the Barcelona tests with a 14th time trial. Over a second and a half from Alvaro Bautista’s Ducati. The Barni rider had positive results with his pace, but he still lacks that confidence he was hoping for with the new tire.

Danilo spoke frankly at the end of the session.

It was two days of rather complicated tests,” he admitted. “I tried several things, but without being able to find what I needed. I also fell twice at turn five in mid corner, and I then decided to stop.”

Danilo went into detail.

There are areas that we need to work on, such as acceleration. I’m fast with the pace. In fact, I had good feedback, but I’m not able take advantage of the new tire. That said, I can’t wait to go to Assen.”

As was recently anticipated, Petrucci tried a new tank cover and a lower saddle in Barcelona. Now both the team and rider will decide which solutions to use in Assen.
