MotoGP: The doctors halt Joan Mir, only 17 riders at the start of the race in Argentina

In the Argentine Grand Prix, the official Honda team will not have a single rider on the track. While Marc Marquez stayed at home after the fracture of the first metacarpal of his right hand (for which he has undergone surgery) picked up at Portimao, Joan Mir has been declared 'unfit' by the doctors of the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit after yesterday's crash in the sprint race.

In fact, the Spanish rider has suffered head and neck trauma. Transferred to the hospital in Santiago del Estero, the tests confirmed a physiological cervical lordosis and Joan continued to experience nausea and dizziness. The good news is that x-rays ruled out ankle fractures.

Mir will return to Europe as soon as possible to get ready for the Austin GP scheduled in less than two weeks.

Following this defection, today there will be only 17 riders on the grid for the GP of Argentina.
