Marco Bezzecchi was competing for first place with Pecco Bagnaia in the Silverstone GP. But, unfortunately, his race ended ahead of time. Due to a fall, the Mooney rider was forced to stop, and that knockout burned a lot.
The VR46 rider explained what happened.
“When I braked, I had a lot of front lock,” he commented. “Even if I I moved and lifted on the brake, I entered Bagnaia’s slipstream without being able to slow down. Then I tried to brake, but the bike closed at the front, and I fell. It’s too bad, because I didn’t expect such behavior, and I have to figure out why.”
He was asked if the cause of all this derives from the tire pressure.
“This thing is probably due to tire wear and being behind another rider for a long time. It happens occasionally, even if it shouldn’t,” he said smiling. “It was probably my mistake that I didn’t move enough and then I fell.”
His last comment was about the choice of tires.
“Initially, I wanted to use the medium, but then everyone was on the soft, and I didn’t want to risk it. It could’ve gone well like it could’ve gone to shit. In the end, maybe it was right to use the soft one, considering the it rained at the end. Until then, I was fine with the bike despite, but this wasn’t because if the tire.”
