MotoGP, Ciabatti: "Gresini is waiting for Marquez’s decision, he will decide in Japan"

The Ducati sporting director confirmed this option: "the team has this opportunity, Marc will soon talk with Honda management"

MotoGP: Ciabatti:

Marc Marquez's future is the favourite topic for discussion in the paddock and beyond. The cards have been on the table for some time, with the Spanish champion potentially leaving Honda to join Ducati, in the Gresini team to team up with his brother Alex. An operation that seemed to have stalled, but which is still possible.

Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti confirmed this to motogp.com: “As far as Gresini goes, I think it looks like they have this opportunity, and they are waiting for Marquez’s decision. So he will talk to Honda management in Japan and make a decision."

We will therefore only have to wait a few days because the Motegi Grand Prix is upon us. Marc Marquez himself had anticipated it on the Monday of the Misano tests: "I have 3 options; I will decide between the Indian and Japanese GPs".

One was to join the Pramac team, but it fell through because Marc wanted an annual contract, while the team wanted a two-year contract. Gresini's door is now open, he just has to walk through it.
