MotoGP, Not only Martin, but all those “warned” about tire pressure

Aleix Espargarò was the first to receive a 3-second penalty in Thailand for his second offence. Then along with Jorge, others like Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi, Pol Espargarò, Vinales, Morbidelli, and Raul Fernandez also received their first warning.

MotoGP: Not only Martin, but all those “warned” about tire pressure

This season, nine riders were caught with a tire pressure that was lower than the pressure that is actually allowed, and eight received a warning for their first offence: Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, Pol Espargarò, Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, Franco Morbidelli, Maverick Vinales, and Dani Pedrosa. This means that, next time, they’ll be penalized with a 3- second penalty on their race time.

This is exactly what happened in Thailand to Aleix Espargarò, who had already been found under the limits in India. If the Aprilia rider were to mess up again, the penalty will increase to 6 seconds and, on his 4th offence, it’ll become 12 seconds.

Those who have been  warned must, therefore, be really careful in the upcoming races, especially Jorge Martin, who is fighting for the World Championship title and has already “played” his wild card in Thailand, unlike Pecco Bagnaia who still has a clean “criminal record.”

Below is a chart of infringements registered by the Stewards this year.
