MotoGP, Miguel Oliveira set to have an official Aprilia RS-GP next year

The Trackhouse team's entry into MotoGP has led to a change of plans in Noale and the Portuguese rider will be able to count on a bike totally similar to those of Espargarò and Vinales

MotoGP: Miguel Oliveira set to have an official Aprilia RS-GP next year

Massimo Rivola said to us immediately after the presentation of the Trackhouse satellite team: "they asked us for bikes as similar as possible to the official ones". Now there is confirmation, Miguel Oliveira will start with a 2024 RS-GP next season, like the ones that Aleix Espargarò and Maverick Vinales will ride. The CEO of Aprilia Racing himself declared the news to Speedweek.

This is an important change of plans for the Noale manufacturer, also resulting from the entry of the American structure into MotoGP. With this move, Aprilia wants the new team to be not just a customer, but a team strongly linked to the parent company. While RNF had been supplied with the previous year's bikes, everything will now change with Trackhouse. After all, Ducati has been guaranteeing Pramac the most up-to-date bikes for a few years now, a situation not too different from that of KTM with Tech3 GasGas and Honda with LCR.

For sure providing another rider with the most up-to-date material possible represents a major commitment, but it has many pros, also when it comes to development. So Oliveira, who experienced a 2023 marked by many injuries, can now look to next year with more confidence and knowing that he can count on the latest evolutions of the RS-GP. Raul Fernandez, on the other hand, will start with last year's bike, but it doesn't mean that he won't receive important changes during the season.
