By now, the point in the MotoGP is no longer seeing if there’s a new wing on the bikes, but where it’s going to end up. In the Sepang Shakedowns, KTM demonstrated how imaginative they are. Dani Pedrosa actually brought his RC16 to the track with an aero piece attached to the front fender.
The new aero piece is a sort of beak, which completely replaces the front part of the fender. Immediately behind it, there are two intakes that most likely serve to cool off the tire.
Aprilia was the first constructor to introduce these in the lower front part of their bikes, with wings on the fork (a solution that Ducati later adopted). KTM’s experiment was even more extreme.
