To spend three days on the track with friends and have fun. Surely, this was simply what the 35-year-old rider, Andrea Bergamelli, wanted to do in Valencia on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia during a session organized by GullyRacing. But, unfortunately, Andrea was involved in a serious accident, with two other riders. An accident that cost him his life.
The GPOne editorial staff sends its most heartfelt condolences to Andrea’s family and friends.
The following is the full text of the statement published by the Circuit Ricardo Tormo:
“The Circuit Ricardo Tormo is sad to announce that amateur rider Andrea Bergamelli did not make it after the serious accident that occurred today during the Gully Racing session. The Italian rider was involved in a multiple accident on the straight of the track in Cheste. Bergamelli was immediately rescued and transported to the circuit’s medical center, where he died. Circuit Ricardo Tormo deeply regrets this loss, and we send our condolences to his family and friends and to Gully Racing.”
