Franco Morbidelli isn’t going through an easy time. His arrival in the Pramac team, on the Ducati, seemed the best opportunity for him to turn his career around after the problems he’s had in recent years. But the accident in Portimão forced him to skip all the winter tests and, in Qatar (if the doctors give him the okay), he’ll be forced to jump into the fray with very little experience on the Desmosedici.
Morbidelli decided to write a letter to the person who most helped him get to where he is now: Valentino Rossi. He did it with a video you can see below. This is what he said:
“Hello Vale. When I was a child, you were my idol. When I was a teen, you became my friend. And now you’re a pillar in my life. When I met you, I was just a kid who loved riding motorcycles and dreamt of becoming a MotoGP rider. What started as a hobby, was able to become my profession. You shared your experience and knowledge with me to make this possible. What’s happened since then is great. You helped me become a MotoGP rider when I was the first student at the VR46 Riders Academy. I’m so grateful to have met you because you came into my life when I was nobody, you believed in me, you made me a professional rider, and you did your part to make my dream come true, my life. Thank you for your trust and support. You’re the greatest of all time, on and off the track. Thank you.”
