SBK: China makes it big in the World Championship: Kove makes history in Barcelona

China is carving out an increasingly important space within World Superbike. On the very day of the Supersport debut of QJ Motor, which arrives in the world championship paddock with an articulated work programme aimed at arriving in the SBK class in 2026, it was the Kove brand that wrote a page in the country's history, conquering in Barcelona the first pole position of a Chinese manufacturer.

A goal achieved with Julio Garcia Gonzalez, who stopped the clock in 1'55"313 in Superpole, ahead of Daniel Mogeda's Kawasaki and Matteo Vannucci's Yamaha. A tangible sign of Kove's competitiveness and progress one year after its entry into SSP300 in the Assen Round of 2023, in which the 321RR became the first Chinese bike to make its debut in the production-based world championship.

Having achieved its first pole in the category, the Chinese brand will now have a great chance to write new pages of history in the two races scheduled this weekend in Catalunya, starting at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24.
