Dovizioso: my knee? a psychological problem

Dovizioso's third place on day one of free practice confirms the solid work completed during testing and the fact that Ducati can also have its say at Misano. After the problems at Silverstone, Andrea has got off on the right foot.

We've made a good start- he confirms - It was important to show that we can be fast also in the afternoon heat. I set a good time, without taking any big risks”.

How did you find the new tyres brought by Michelin?
At this track we need stability in braking and they've improved in that sense, but need something more through the turns. I have good sensations anyway, I'm fast also on the used tyre".

The tests were useful?
Particularly in terms of getting some of the work out of the way, not in terms of being faster. The best riders are quick to go fast”.

How's your knee?
It's harder for me to get on and off the bike than to ride it (he laughs). It's more painful here than in England, but that's normal for a contusion. It's not really a problem on the bike, it probably has more of a psychological impact”.

In what way?
If I were to fall, and hit my knee, I could have serious problems. It's somthing you think about when you have to take risks to complete a fast lap”.
