MotoGP, Morbidelli: "If Rossi fails to improve, I think he'll stop."

"He won't keep racing to finish 8th or 10th. Quartararo is in a state of grace. I studied him to improve myself."

MotoGP: Morbidelli:

Valentino likes to race, but he also likes to fight for the top positions. He won't continue to race to finish eighth or tenth. The 2019 season is not what everyone expected. More is expected from the next. If he fails, I think he'll stop."  These were the words of a rider who knows Rossi very well. Franco Morbidelli. The Italian-Brazilian rider was one of the first to be part of the VR46 Riders Academy and the first from the "school" to win a title.

That's what Franco commented on the future of his "teacher" in an interview with the French magazine, Moto Revue. So the Petronas team rider confirmed that 2020 will be fundamental for the Doctor, especially the first few races, because the results obtained will make him decide whether to quit or continue.

If Valentino chooses retirement, there will definitely be a race  to take his place on the official team.

I have to improve in the race and on the Yamaha at maximum speed," Morbido explained. "My goal is to remain in the top 5. 2020 will be important because contracts will be discussed very early. It's up to me to improve. If I show progress, I'll certainly have opportunities."

His most difficult rival is none other than Fabio Quartararo, who was the revelation for 2019 and who everyone is betting on.

I had the opportunity to observe and study him, and this helped me to get better results," Franco confessed. "Rossi and Vinales also say they learned from him. Fabio is simply super fast. I think he has a lot of courage and  heimmediately felt good on the Yamaha. He discovered a good foundation that gave him confidence and ended the year in a kind of state of grace."
