MotoGP: Bagnaia: “I’m convinced that I’ll have speed and competitiveness in Malaysia”

Pecco Bagnaia arrives in Malaysia as World Championship leader. Despite Martin’s double in Thailand, the rider from Piedmont keeps resisting at the top of the rankings. The Ducati rider had won last year in Sepang, and now he wants to attempt it once more: “I’m very happy to be racing again in Sepang,” he said. “It’s one of my favorite tracks, where I’ve achieved important results in the past. In the last Thailand GP, especially in the Sunday race, we were able to find speed and the right sensations that allowed me to be competitive, and I’m confident I’ll find it quickly again here.”

Pecco knows what he wants: “Being fast again will be essential, also in qualifying, in order to be able to start up front in the race. The weather will be an unknown variable, as always, but I’m not worried.”

They’re also looking forward to Enea Bastianini’s arrival in Ducati: “The weekend in Thailand was very difficult, but Sunday’s race helped us gather other important data that I hope will help me progress even further compared to the last races.”

So things have to change in Malaysia: “Sepang is a track where I’ve been very competitive in the past, and I hope to be fast again this year. Let’s hope the weather isn’t too unstable and will allow us to take advantage of all the rounds, in order to arrive at the race well prepared.”
