MotoGP: Viñales penalized by 3 positions: Bagnaia starts in pole position

Bagnaia will be starting from the pole position in today’s race. Maverick Viñales was, in fact, penalized by 3 positions on the line-up for not stopping immediately during the Warm-up when he was shown the black flag with the orange circle that is displayed in case of a technical problem. His Aprilia was leaking oil that caused a cloud of white smoke. As a precaution, the stewards displayed the flag, but there was actually no engine failure, so Viñales will use that bike in the race.

In order not to run the risk of Viñales dirtying the track with oil, Race Direction displayed the flag, but the Spanish rider went to the pits, instead of immediately parking the bike on the track, and that’s why he was penalized.

Maverick perde la posizione davanti a tutti sullo schieramento ed è stato retrocesso al 4° posto, in seconda fila. Anche Johann Zarco e Jack Miller guadagnano una posizione, partendo rispettivamente 2° e 3°.
