MotoGP, Bezzecchi: "I’m struggling more than last year, but I made progress in Qatar"

"I’ll continue to work with the team on braking and entering, to get closer to the fastest and have fun." Di Giannantonio: "We shouldn't rush. The goal for Portimão is the Top 5."

MotoGP: Bezzecchi:

Having won the first points of the year in Qatar, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is getting back to business on the "roller coaster" track in Algarve, home of the first European MotoGP race in 2024. A circuit that Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio particularly like, and they’re ready to get back into action as they intend to shorten their distances from the leaders.

Although Losail wasn't the easiest for the Bez, as he struggled to adapt to his Desmodsedici GP23, the 25-year-old is satisfied with the progress he made in the first round of the year. Now he’s aiming to become one of the stars of the championship, on a track where he had already gotten on the podium last season.

"Portimão is really one of the greates tracks on the calendar. Complicated, physically demanding, but, at the same time, very fun. I was fast here last year. This year, at the moment, we’re struggling a bit more. But I'm happy with the progress made during the race weekend in Qatar," Marco said. "We’ll continue to work with the entire team, especially on braking and entering. The goal is to get closer to the fastest group and have fun on this very special track."

Leaving Qatar with a 7th place, after a fall in the Sprint, Di Giannantonio also arrived in Portugal with the intent of continuing to progress with the Tavullia line up and fight as hard as possible for the positions that count.

"The weekend in Qatar was positive overall. We had a few slight problems, but this didn’t prevent us from being fast and competitive," Fabio noted. "We’ll continue to work hard with the team also here in Portimão, on a great, amazing track. A real roller coaster, and very demanding also on a physical level. We shouldn’t rush. We’re doing well. We have to continue to progress. The top five could be a goal within reach."
