SBK, Toprak: "Many were talking about the BMW. Today I showed them who I am and what our bike is worth."

"I was tense in Australia, because I felt lots of pressure around me. I fulfilled my dream, winning on a track where no one believed in it like Barcelona."

SBK: Toprak:

Toprak Razgatlioglu made history, just like that! A Saturday they dreamed of, one that was long awaited, finally became real in Barcelona for the german constructor, as they reached that victory they've been pursuing. And the credit goes to the Turkish wonder who, after writing history with the R1, has now done so with the M 1000 RR.

A strategic victory for #54. He waited then attacked, getting the best of Bulega who was tasting the victory up until the very end. Razgatlioglu won and rightfully enjoyed the moment.

"I'm obviously happy for this day," he said. "My plan was to try to be calm, without attacking the tire. The moment Bulega started to push, I closed the throttle, because I was aware of the Ducati's potential. I saw Iannone pass me but, after two laps, his tire started to degrade. Then, with six laps to go, the same thing happened to Bulega. At that moment, I started to push, because I felt I had potential. I was smiling on the bike, because I realized I was going to make it."

In the end, that's how it went.
"Many people were talking about the BMW and didn't believe in us. But we won in our second race, in Barcelona, a special track. I fulfilled my dream, and now I'm much more relaxed. I think I proved who I am today and what our bike is worth, knowing that we're only in our first year."

We're convinced that this Saturday, March 23rd, will remain etched in his mind for a long time.
"When I saw the checkered flag, it was incredible. This day repays us for all our efforts, since there were many doubts, and it was hard. In the first race of the season, in Australia, I felt a lot of pressure, but I was self-conscious. In the end, we did it. We won."

Of course, the BMW rider is keeping his feet on the ground.
"We know we're at the beginning of a journey. We still have to grow, but we definitely proved that we're competitive. At the end of the day, Barcelona is a particular one, but we reached an extraordinary result. I think we could be stronger on the other tracks, because we don't have to manage and adopt a different style."
