SBK: Iker Lecuona declared unfit for Superpole and Race1 at Assen

Iker Lecuona's 2024 adventure in SBK riding the Honda CBR just can't get going. The latest tile is from this morning, when during the wet FP3 at Assen, just when he was also showing good pace in these conditions, the Spaniard lost the front end of his bike on braking, making a long slide into the runways. From the pictures we cannot see the full incident, but the feeling is that Iker was hit by his bike on the approach to the escape route.

He did not lose consciousness and was immediately rescued by trackside medics and then checked out at the Dutch track's medical center. For now there is no official news about any injury, but perhaps as a precautionary measure he was declared un fit and was unable to participate in Superpole and will not be at the start in Race1. He will undergo further investigations to assess his participation in tomorrow's Superpole Race and Race2.
