MotoGP, Randy Mamola and Carlo Pernat: "Rossi's ranch? Kenny Roberts' idea!"

Liberty Media's purchase of a majority stake in MotoGP, leaving Dorna to manage the championship at the moment, and the arrival of an American-driven team like Trackhouse are signs of a change taking place. Changes that are the result of necessity but also harbingers of potential for the future of the sport that wants to be able to broaden its horizons, not only economically but also in terms of fame. The lesson from the last few years of Formula 1 management is clear, more can be done for the sport and Liberty Media is certainly of the same opinion. This is also an opportunity for the Americans, who have been absent from the headlines for far too long despite a golden past in two-wheel racing, to return.

The Austin GP was thus an opportunity to meet a legend of the past, Randy Mamola, in a tete-a-tete with another paddock legend, Carlo Pernat. An opportunity then to go back with memories to one of the most beloved eras of motorcycle racing that churned out so many champions, but also to look at the current state of MotoGP and the future potential, primarily the return of Americans to the premier class. It will take time it is clear, but the pawns are beginning to move in the right direction and there is beginning to be an air of change for MotoGP.
