Aprilia is gearing up for the Jerez challenge after Maverick Viñales' incredible result in Austin, when he racked up a full haul, allowing the Italian constructor to reach its 298th win in the MotoGP and become the first to win with three different brands.
"I grew up on this track and, whenever I go there, I find my home crowd and my fan club. I know every meter. It's a circuit I like and where I always want to do well. The best memory for me is my first win in the CEV with the 125cc. This year, we're getting to the top, because we have a bike that allows us to be fast everywhere. Historically, I've always done well. It'll be great to come back," the rider from Spain commented on the eve of the race.
Aleix Espargaro is also very confident, after his start from a pole in 2023. "It is the longest-running track in the championship, and it's obviously also very special for us Spanish riders. This GP is the first real test. Having a good set-up will be crucial, because this is where you can really tell if the bike is working. Racing at the Angel Nieto is always a great celebration. I stood on the podium two years ago, and I can't wait to test myself again. Hopefully, it'll be a good race for all of us on the Noale team."
We'll also be seeing Lorenzo Savadori in his role as a wild card, while he waits to race at Mugello and Assen. "It's going to be an important weekend for me and for the team. I'll be racing with a lab bike, so we'll have different solutions to test and new things to experiment with. I'll give it my all!"
