MotoGP: Rossi Leonidas, at Silverstone for his 300th battle

It is a Valentino Rossi racing to beat a record and Sunday at Silverstone, he will once again be in the spotlight. The British race, which will start at 3:30 PM GMT, will be the Doctor’s 300th in the premier class. It is an adventure that began in the year 2000 with Honda, before switching to Yamaha and then Ducati before making his return to the M1.

As of today, number 46 has raced in 35.1% of all the World Grand Prix Motorcycle Championship races and finished on the podium on 26 different tracks. The only one where he still has not managed to do so is the Red Bull Ring, a track where he has also never won in his career, just like Austin, Aragon and Istanbul.

However, something must be clarified: in the official Dorna statistics, there are a LOT of mistakes, since (just as an example), it would be impossible for Stoner, having raced for six years in the top class,  to have taken part in 192 GP races. But the numbers are wrong for almost everyone. Except for Vale.

The correct statistics on the number of Grand Prix rounds raced in the premier category are these:

However, there is another interesting fact. With his win two weeks ago in Austria, Andrea Dovizioso has surpassed Jorge Lorenzo in the rider rankings for the longest winning careers. The Italian is sixth ahead of the Majorcan with 13 years and 117 days from his first win in South Africa in 2004 in 125.
