MotoGP: Lorenzo: Important to have regained confidence

The only Ducati on the front row was perhaps the least expected. It was Jorge Lorenzo who seems to have truly found the right footing on the Tuscan hills, as his second place time just a few thousandths behind the pole confirms. “I thought that my last front row start was in Austria – he recounts – but I had forgotten about Aragón. It is a pleasure to be back on the front row, but it is especially a pleasure to have regained the right confidence. It’s a pity not to have earned my first pole position with the Ducati, though.”

A big step forward for Jorge was overcoming the ergonomics problems on his Ducati.

“The new fuel tank gave the bike different ergonomics. Now I have more support and I am more at ease in the saddle. I feel like I can maintain my pace for more laps, so I think I am more ready for the race than I have been the other times.”

So, as for the race, there is no lack of expectations.

“In the last few races, I managed to start well and tomorrow I’ll try to do that again. The front tyre choice will be very important because on this track and with this heat, it suffers a lot and it will be a very heated race because there are a lot of riders with a good pace. However, the most important thing is that we can have our say and I want to do as much as possible for the Ducati fans. In any case, I don’ think that one race can change the future.”
