Gigi Dall'Igna and his men have pulled another new aerodynamic component out of the cylinder, debuting it during the Jerez test. Danilo Petrucci has taken to the track with a new tail piece that features two aerodynamic appendages at the sides. The regulation regarding winglets is becoming ever stricter, but the Borgo Panigale crew is not short on imagination.
While they are keeping quiet about the new fairing for next year's Desmosedici, the team is experimenting in an area that is still to be explored. The tail piece has thus gain two 'ears' with the clear intention of exploiting the air pressure for greater load at the rear wheel.
Ducati has often led the way with its new solutions and its rivals will no doubt be preparing their countermoves over the winter.
