Moto2: Oli Bayliss in touch with MV Agusta for a place in the Moto2 World Championship

Maybe the time has come when we will see another Bayliss in the world championship again. Of course we are talking about Oli, son of the unforgettable Troy. The 17-year-old Australian is gaining experience in the Australian production-based series and, after racing in the Supersport 300 class, this year he made his Superbike debut, naturally on a Ducati Panigale V4. A debut season in which he has already achieved some satisfaction by winning his first race in Hidden Valley in June, while in the championship he is 4th 19 points from the top.

The time has come now to think about the future, with the aim of coming to race in Europe, abandoning the production-based bikes. The goal is to find a seat for Oli in Moto2 for 2022 and Troy, in the role not only of dad but also of manager, is starting to get busy.

What we can say is that a phone call has been made to MV Agusta and seeing a Bayliss linked to an Italian brand always has a certain charm. Contacts with the Forward team are still in an embryonic stage, but it is clear that Oli wants to make his debut in Moto2. We just have to wait and see…
