The Daytona 200 is a very special race, especially because of the speedway it's ridden on, with turns that need to be tackled at full speed. Spectacular, but also very dangerous, especially if it rains.
Christian Miranda paid the price for this, losing control of his bike during the qualifying session, just as he was tackling a banking. The rider behind him miraculously managed to avoid him and, all in all, Miranda got away with only a fractured wrist.
Soon after, that corner was treacherous for two more riders who fell. One was Geoof May, whose Suzuki also caught fire. The Vision Wheel M4 team’s rider quickly extinguished the fire using dirt from the ride-off area.
