Moto2: Carlos Tatay back in Spain, with uncertain prognosis

After a serious accident in the Moto2 European Championship test in Portimão, Carlos Tatay first underwent surgery in Faro and then was transferred to Spain. The SAG team, for which the Spanish rider races, wrote an update on Carlos’ condition and asked that his privacy be respected during such a complicated moment.

We want to send the following message to all colleagues, friends, media, fans, and anyone asking for information on Carlos Tatay’s condition:

The rider is in Spain and will be admitted to a specialized center. His hope for recovery has remained unchanged, despite knowing that the prognosis is uncertain. We will not commit the folly of promoting false hopes or catastrophic prognoses until we have the definitive diagnosis and treatment. We, therefore, demand that all the media be just as reasonable and respectful, as they have generally been so far. There are signs that encourage us to be positive.

No information will be provided that is not authorized by his family, because it cannot be otherwise.

We hope everyone will continue to support Carlos Tatay, his family, and his loved ones.
