Falcón was involved in a bad accident during the second stage of the Dakar, between Al Henakiyah and Al Dawadimi, and was then transported to the hospital in serious condition.
“The Spanish rider, Carles Falcón (n. 135), fell at 3:52 pm local time (1:52 Italian time) while riding the 448th km of today’s special stage,” the organizers of the competition announced in a statement. “The organization was immediately alerted by a competitor racing behind him, and a medical helicopter was sent to pick up the injured rider. His condition was serious, so he was transported to the Al Duwadimi hospital. More information will be released in the upcoming hours.”
The TwinTrail Racing team rider from Spain was participating in his second edition of the Dakar, after his debut in the 2022 race, in which he finished in 68th place in the general classification and 16th in the category without assistance, “Original by Motul”. Racing with the number 135, like in his first participation, Falcón was in 76th place in the general classification and in 11th place in the Original By Motul, after the first stage of the competition.
