SBK, Petrucci: "I'm glad to be alive, I thought I wouldn’t be here to tell about it"

VIDEO - Danilo left the hospital and, despite his injuries, he hasn’t lost his good mood: "I’ll smile with a crooked mouth, and lose weight because I can't eat, but I want to get back on the bike for Misano."

SBK: Petrucci:

Danilo Petrucci left the hospital in Ancona, where he was hospitalized after the terrible accident on his motocross bike. He bears the marks of the accident on both his face and body, but Petrux hasn’t lost his smile nor his desire to smile. So he posted a video on his social media  channels (can below) in which he updated everyone on his condition.

"I'm better, almost fine. I’m out of the hospital. My jaw took a big hit. I broke it into several parts, like also my collarbone and scapula. Unfortunately, I also severed a nerve in my jaw. My mouth will be a bit crooked for a while when I laugh," he said jokingly, proving that he hasn’t lost his good mood.

The fall was terrible, and Danilo didn’t hide that fact he feared for the worse.

"I'm very happy to be here. First of all, because I'm alive. For a moment, when I was falling, I didn't think I’d be here to tell about it," he admitted. "I’m very grateful to the doctors of the hospital in Ancona, where I’ve been these days. Dr. De Feudis, who urgently operated on my jaw, put plates and screws in me. I was really in bad shape. He did a great job. Dr. Balercia in charge of maxillo-facial; Dr. Pascarella who operated on my collarbone yesterday morning, fixing it with a plate."

Now he’ll be returning home and working on his recovery so that he can get back on his Ducati as soon as possible.

"In addition to the two plates and the twenty screws I have on my hand, I added another three plates and a few screws, but I'm happy. I'm going home. It’s going to be a while, but I think I'll see you in Misano. I'll make it. I can't eat, only liquids. So, for the first time in my life, I’ll lose weight," Petrucci smiled. "It's tough, but I'm very happy to be here talking to you. I thank everyone who wrote to me."
