MotoGP: Market latest: Rins to Suzuki, Zarco with Tech3

After opening early, the riders market is catching its breath. At the latest GPs, the announcements and confirmations have continued without let up and the jigsaw pieces for the next two years are almost all in place.

The factory Ducati, Honda and Yamaha teams are complete, as is KTM while there is just one seat to fill in Aprilia and Suzuki.

Aleix Espargarò will not stay with Suzuki, having voiced his disappointment in Barcelona last Thursday. Alex Rins, the current Moto2 leader and one of the most promising youngsters, is ready to get on the GSX-RR. Davide Brivio wants to repeat the path taken with Vinales, taken from the intermediate class and transformed into one of the top riders in just a couple of years.

Aleix Espargarò is looking around and the first option for him is to move to Aprilia, alongside Alex Lowes. After his performance at Montmelò however, Alvaro Bautista's stock is up, and Aleix has admitted he's received a couple of offers from SBK too. Romano Albesiano told us in an interview that the decision will be taken before the Assen GP in two weeks' time.

As for the satellite teams, there's still an M1 available at Tech3. Poncharal has lost both riders and already confirmed Folger. Frenchman Johann Zarco may come to Yamaha, already expected to move up to MotoGP last year, this could be the right time for him.

There will probably be no changes for team Pramac that has an option with both of its riders. Danilo Petrucci compromised the start of his season when he was injured in the Phillip Island tests but has quickly got back into his rhythm and is a fixed presence in the top ten. Scott Redding's first GPs were affected by various technical problems with his Desmosedici but the Brit has proved to be fast.

The coming weeks will see further announcements and swaps, after which we'll be able to concentrate on the current season.
