MotoGP: Dovizioso: competitive everywhere, my aim is the podium

Five races to go and two riders leading the way, with the same points total. The setting for a real thriller, in which Andrea Dovizioso wants the starring role. The Italian was on the defense at home-round Misano but still gained important points and greater awareness. Now we know we are competitive on all tracks, and both me and my team are really excited about the last five races, so I’ll be aiming for a podium again this weekend."

Dovizioso is not holding back and prepares for battle, aware of the pitfalls that a track like Aragon can conceal, one where Andrea has only ever achieved one podium finish, in 2012: “MotorLand Aragón is a really nice but rather unusual track, completely different from Misano where I stepped onto the podium for the first time in my GP career two weeks ago."

One man looking to bounce back is Jorge Lorenzo and, despite the negative outcome, he tries to see the positives of the Misano round: “Pity about my crash in the race at Misano, because I had a chance of winning my first race with Ducati, but it was important to take the positive aspects from this situation which can help us to improve. I was permanently in the lead of the race again and this confirms that we are on the right path and working in the right direction."

#99 has high expectations, particularly considering the feeling between the Majorcan and the MotorLand track; the Spaniard has reached the podium at six of the seven previous editions, results that have included two victories in 2014 and 2015, while last year he closed in second place.

"Aragón is one of the circuits where I feel most at home and where I have good memories - adds Jorge - and so I hope to capitalize on the fact that I am racing at home to score a good result. It will be important to be quick right from the off on Friday.”
