Maverick Viñales made history in Austin by triumphing with the Aprilia RS-GP in the Grand Prix, after also getting a pole position in qualifying and winning in the Sprint Race. He was the first rider ever in the MotoGP to have won with three different constructors in at least one Grand Prix. His first win was at Silverstone in his second season with Suzuki. His teammate at that time was also Aleix Espargarò!
The second came a few months later. Once he switched to Yamaha, the Spanish rider experienced a memorable start of the season in 2017. In fact, Maverick managed to win his debut race on the M1 in Losail, and then repeated the win again in the second round of the season in Argentina. At that time, he seemed destined to win his first MotoGP title. His adventure with Yamaha had brought him some satisfaction but also also much sorrows, until they went their separate ways in mid-2021 .
From that moment on, the Noale and Aprilia-branded challenge began for Viñales- This led him to suffer a lot at the beginning. But he then climbed back up the ladder, step by step, until he scored his first podium in 2022 at Assen. After that, the victory didn't seem far off, but the Top Gun had to instsead wait until Sunday at Austin, when he reached the prestigious milestone that relegated him to MotoGP history.
