MotoGP, Marquez skips 3 Grands Prix, returns in September at Misano

Marc doesn't want to force things this time. After Brno, he won't even be participating in the double race in Austria, so that he can fully recover after his second operation.

MotoGP: Marquez skips 3 Grands Prix, returns in September at Misano

For Marc Marquez, the dream of a 9th world title, at least for this year, may already have fizzled. The second operation he underwent for his arm yesterday will certainly have serious repercussions on his championship. For the moment, there has been no official news about his recovery, except for when he made his absence official at the Brno Grand Prix, in which he will be replaced by Stefan Bradl.

But the one in the Czech Republic may not be the only race without Marc. In fact, in all probability, we won't even see him in the double race at the Red Bull Ring in the following weeks. Emilio Pérez de Rozas, in El Periódico, writes that Marquez has decided to take an August holiday, shall we say. He no longer wants to exert himself, so he'll only return to the track when he's in top form.

For Marc, this would, therefore, mean starting in the Honda garage in the two Misano races, scheduled for September 13th and 20th. A month and a half of rehab will allow him to be in full form, although perhaps the World Championship will be just more than a delusion.

In the event this happens, it would mean losing a total of 5 races, with only 9 left ahead. It's true that this will depend a lot on the results of Quartararo, Vinales, and Dovizioso (the three riders currently leading the championship), but a comeback in the standings could be impossible. Marc, however, could end the season in the best way possible, winning races and preparing for the next one.

These are the current plans, although we can always expect some surprises from Marquez.
